The Turbine Building Team return to the Gyreum: Hugh Piggot of Scoraig Wind. Jim & Miriam from Eirbyte. A five day course on building a 4.2 metre blade turbine from scratch. Every action from blade shaping, to coil turning, every detail done in detail – so after five days the student has a thorough knowledge of the entire process: the electrics, the metal work and the carpentry of it. On the last day the turbine will be lifted on to a mast on site. Students from past courses have often teamed up and gone built their own turbines for a tiny fraction of shop price.
Prices and precise date to follow. It is likely to be the 3-8 June 2013. For details and pricing on the course, on accommodation call the Gyreum office 071 9165994 or email info@gyreum.com
For details on the last course go to www.scoraigwind.com/gyreum.
The division of learning is between carpentry, metal work and electrics.
In late Autumn we will be doing another wind turbine course. Ideal for club or sports group who would like to put one up to trickle feed hot water for showers or similar. For Example if you are a football club. Send some interested members along. They pay tuition and the parts and come away with a Turbine. The course is a maximum of 16 people.
