The Gyreum is an Installation Incubator. We welcome groups and organisations, societies and clubs who seek to incubate innovative new ideas.

In our society we are exposed to a wrong understanding of disease, where an illness is portrayed as “bad fate” – as something that can come anytime over us but is beyond our control. In addition to this misunderstanding we also seem to wrongly accept that with old age diseases come naturally and are unavoidable.

This is far away from being true. The reality is that there is a very precise mechanism that leads from health to disease. To understand this “law” or “mechanism” it is essential to study and comprehend the condition of health in great detail – on a biochemical, biophysical and soul level (the soul is of course part of the human being and can’t be ignored when it comes to health).

On this weekend course we’ll explore the foundation of our health in detail. We’ll go through some amazing research from Germany (yet widely unpublished in English speaking countries) that explains causes for all degenerative diseases as well as ways how to rejuvenate the body
simply and efficient. We will explain in detail how the process of rejuvenation and ageing works on a biochemical and biophysical level (this will be simple, no university degree needed). We will also explain the causes of degenerative diseases and the measurements that can successfully prevent them.
Possibilities for holistic therapies will be discussed in detail. And Nutrition – we look at facts and
secrets that are not widely known.

This course can help us to understand how we can create a completely healthy life without the threats of cancer, heart disease and other degenerative diseases. How does conventional nutrition, exposure to electromagnetic fields and geopathic stress lead to a so-called “over acidic bio-terrain”?
How does this over acidity in the body create metabolic disturbances and how these metabolic disturbances lead to a disease?

If we start to understand this, we also will be able to reverse this process and come into a healing process from all kind of health problems – no matter how advanced or incurable they might appear
to be. They key to understanding is how our metabolism works and how we are energetically interconnected with our environment.

Through this understanding you can gain independence and responsibility about your health. With this knowledge you are able to slow down or reverse your ageing process significantly.

The course material consists of actual research and ancient wisdom. It includes knowledge from ayur-veda, chinese medicine, Feng Shui, geomancy, yoga, dowsing, macrobiotic, herbalism, naturopathy and spiritual & scientific studies.

It is not just theory that is taught in this course—this knowledge has been successfully practically applied for years and is partly taught in the best naturopathic schools in Germany.

About the course instructor

Frank Albrecht studied holistic health and nutrition in Germany. By coincidence he met alternative scientists that could explain to him the causes for civilization diseases and how to cure them. He studied their research in detail and then went on to study the basics of traditional chinese and indian medicine (ayurveda) and other natural healing modalities. Through his own experience with food and his meditation practice he developed a strong awareness about how food can destroy health or how it can heal. He also experienced that it is a lot of fun to work with natural food and that it gives amazing self-confidence and strength in daily life to people, once they can understand how to heal themselves.

Organised by yoga instructor Luna Dolezal and artist Fiona Hallinan, Fraoch Yoga Retreats have been running since 2010. The retreats take place in the unique environment of the Gyreum Ecolodge in Co. Sligo, Ireland.

The retreats include a timetable of yoga instruction by Luna with time for walks in the surrounding landscape of lakes, heather (fraoch as Gaeilge), the passage tombs at Carrowkeel and the seaside at Strandhill.
Food is an important part of the retreats too with shared meals of seasonal, nourishing vegetarian/vegan produce carefully sourced and prepared.

Let the trained instructors guide you through these new and wonderful sports, then get ready for the evening, as we troop down to our local pub for a bit of atmosphere and a bit of craic.  These same events are do-able across the year as Gaeilge, on set dates or by arrangement.  This means the water sports are instructed through Irish by request.

WINTER SOLSTICE 2012 SCHEDULE
Thursday 20th December Gather in time for 15:55 sunset (possibly the last).
This is a quiet time; some meditation before and after.  Oftener than not this is a clear sky time of year, sometimes snow on the ground.
1630 to 1800 guided discussions on the astrological and astronomy behind the ideas of the next day’s possible End Moment. Is it hocum, does it have significance?  It’s a chance anyway to weigh up our personal, local and national intention. Organic healthy nourishing dinner.  Early to bed.

Solstice, Friday 21 December 2012:
Rise at 0700.  Predawn meditation on our cosy geothermal floor.
0830 breakfast.  Own time.  Short walks. Group Tai Chi to help folk limber up.
10:30 all gather in concentric circles inside Gyreum’s “Great Hall of the People.”  Until noon (if we make it) a lightly guided meditation, occasional
Tibetan bells etc. punctuating. 11:12 .G.M.T. is the Solstice moment, the conclusion of the Long Calendar.

- assuming the world continues…….13:00 Lunch.  Afternoon is own time. A meditation at Sundown in advance of sunset.

At 1900 we have Solstice/ New Era’s Day Banquet followed by music and dancing.
